
If you’re looking to upgrade your Meta Quest 2 or Quest Pro virtual reality headset, you might want to check out one of the latest entertainment apps to hit the Meta Store: Peacock TV. Meta announced in a blog post on Wednesday that the streaming service is now available for download. Users in the US and select regions can stream sports, movies, and TV shows like Poker Face and Yellowstone.
As a benefit, new Peacock subscribers with Meta Quest hardware can sign up for free Peacock Premium. The limited-time offer is available to owners of Meta Quest 2 or Meta Quest Pro who are over 18 years of age and reside in the United States, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, or the US Virgin Islands. Those who registered an eligible device by April 11, 2023 can get Peacock Premium for three months at no cost. Those who register eligible Meta VR devices by April 11, 2024 can get the service for free for one year. Eligible users should check their email for details.
Peacock Premium costs $5 per month for the ad-supported plan and $10 per month for the ad-free Premium Plus subscription. The latter includes Live broadcast of your local NBC network news stations and TV series such as Chicago Med. The platform has more than 80,000 hours of content, including Universal, WWE, Sunday Night Football, and Bravo reality shows.
meta announced a partnership with NBCUniversal During the Meta Connect event in October. The deal includes Peacock and will bring The Office and other content from studios like Blumhouse to the metaverse. Although this is the first time Peacock has launched on a VR headset, the Meta already offers access to Netflix, Prime Video, and Showtime (US only) among its streaming TV options.
