Xiaomi Mi 13 Ultra shows off a chunky camera bump

Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be launched later this month, however, the company is keeping the design under wraps for now. This has not stopped OnLeaks And smartbreakswho shared 3D images of the new camera flagship, and take a look for yourself.

The design looks harmonious compared to the 12S Ultra. The 1-inch IMX989 sensor required more thickness, so Xiaomi resorted to double-bumping again. However, rather than the stacked design of the previous model, the 13 Ultra tries to blend the bottom level with the rear.

According to the measurements from the CAD design, the phone measures 163.2 x 74.6 x 9.57mm, without a bump. with The overall thickness bump comes out to 15.61mm. For comparison, the 12S Ultra is 9.1mm without a bump and 13.5mm with it.

We’ll double-check those numbers when Xiaomi makes the new Ultra official (which is expected to happen on April 18th), but this is shaping up to be one huge phone. The fabric on the back is supposed to be faux leather.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra will have four cameras, one more than the 12S Ultra and 13 Pro. Rumors suggest that it will be a 50MP quad setup. No details on the extra unit, but we can speculate that it will be a mid-range zoom lens to bridge the gap between the 23mm main lens and the 75mm periscope (these numbers are from the 13 Pro’s camera setup).

The phone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 along with a 4,900mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging. It should have a 6.7 inch 120Hz curved AMOLED display.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be available globally. No official word on pricing yet, of course, but the leak showed a price of CNY6,300 for the base 8/256GB model and CNY6,800 for the 12/256GB version. The equivalent Xiaomi 13 Pro units cost CNY 5,400 and CNY 5,800, respectively. The 8 / 256GB version is not available in Europe, while the 12 / 256GB 13 Pro version has a price of 1400 euros.
