With the historic and unprecedented indictment (uh, not that word again) of former President Donald Trump, Saturday Night Live He decided to mock the man’s penchant for comparing himself to Jesus Christ.(Opens in a new tab)

During the show’s Easter open, a recreation of The Last Supper stops in its tracks so Trump (played wonderfully by James Austin Johnson) can wax poetic about how he and the Son of God faced similar situations. Although Jesus did nothing wrong, Trump sees a little bit of himself in the J-man.

Trump told the audience, “A lot of you say we’re very similar.” “We’re both tall, very popular, and we’re both honestly, white Americans.”

During the sketch, the pseudo-Trump pointed out that he even had his own Judas – Ron DeSantis.

“He came up to me with tears in his eyes and said ‘Help me Mr. Trump, I’m going to lose my election,’” Trump recounts. “So I generously pretended I liked him and then he did Judas and now he can’t even get gays out of Disney World.”

The cold open continues with the fake Trump shooting Jesus, saying he’s probably better than Jesus because he’s a “self-made billionaire” and Jesus is a “Baby of Nebo”.

“I mean, his father is God,” Trump says. “It is very easy to start a religion when your father is God.”
