If you are a student, or otherwise looking for an endless stream of “tunes to relax/study”, you know Lofi Girl.
Originally known as ChilledCow, this YouTube channel plays hip-hop 24/7. The whole time, I was accompanied by Lofi Girl, an anime-style woman and her cat. There have been a few instances over the years in which it has stopped airing for alleged copyright reasons, but for the most part, Lofi Girl is very reliable. She is usually at her desk, all day every day, endlessly writing in her notebook:

Until yesterday, when our daughter went missing – but the flow continued.

Not only did it disappear, the stream address changed to a question mark. Lofi Girl Instagram account(Opens in a new tab) He hinted that something was afoot, with multiple posts heading to lofiworld.com(Opens in a new tab) (Which, as of posting, doesn’t appear to be loading).
Yesterday, a new broadcast with a countdown appeared with an accompanying post on Instagram(Opens in a new tab). When the countdown ran out, it was revealed: There’s a Synthboy(Opens in a new tab) in town, with a shiny new stream titled “Synthwave Radio – Beats for Relaxing/Playing.”

Longtime Lofi Girl viewers will know that this is a payoff to a long-standing question about what happened with the blue window(Opens in a new tab) Behind it, which has surfaced in the past few months:

As it turns out, this is just Synth Boy getting started playing it. In his stream you can see a hint of Lofi Girl:
