The next-generation Asus ROG series of phones is just around the corner, and its launch is scheduled for April 13 (this Thursday). The phone’s design has already been seen in images by the Taiwanese wireless authority, but now Evan Blass has found official-looking images of the two upcoming models.
Yes, two models: Asus ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Pro. Both will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and there is no word on the Dimensity version yet. The new Pro model borrows a feature from last year’s 6D Ultimate, the AeroAtive Gate.

The gate is a flap that opens to give the AeroActive Cooler direct access to the chipset heatsink. As we mentioned in our ROG 6D Ultimate review, Cooler and Portal make a huge difference in sustained performance.

Only the Asus ROG Phone 7 Pro has the portal based on these images. Also, traditionally it’s also the only one with a secondary screen on the back (the vanilla version should have some RGB lighting).
Asus makes a first-party case and screen protector for phones — DEVILCASE was also available for the ROG Phone 6, as was the screen protector.

Based on images from the National Communications Commission of Taiwan, the ROG phones will have a 6,000mAh battery with 65W fast charging (20V at 3.25A). Rumors we’ve heard suggest that the phones will have 6.8″ FHD+ 165Hz AMOLED displays and the usual 50 + 13 + 5 MP cameras (the last module is a macro camera). We will get the official details on Thursday.
