The best PSVR 2 games in 2023

the new PSVR2 It’s the ticket to virtual reality experiences that feel like a significant step above what Sony’s original PSVR offered. It’s pricey, though, and it doesn’t include any free games (unless you buy for $600 Horizon appeal from mountain pack). However, with dozens of PSVR 2 games already available, you’ll want to find the best one to spend your time and money on. We’ve created a shortlist of the best launch must-haves to get the most out of your experience. These are all games we’ve already played; We will update this list as more games become available.

One problem with PSVR 2 games is that some of them are just as expensive as regular console games. You probably wouldn’t buy that many, unless you had free or low-cost upgrades to games you already own. Some, like Gran Turismo 7, Resident Evil Village, and No Man’s Sky, are additional free VR modes for existing PS5 games, and they’re all must-haves.

Sony’s flagship PSVR 2 exclusive is an immersive adventure set in the futuristic, post-apocalyptic world of Horizon Call of the Wild and Horizon Forbidden West. Call of the Mountain is more linear, focusing on actions such as climbing, using a bow and arrow, and exploring vast mountain ranges. The graphics are amazing. Obviously you have to show what PSVR 2 can do. There are even some subtle uses of eye tracking and vibration within the headset.

Wow, this racing game looks good in PSVR 2. Sony’s hit game just got a software update that adds support for in-game virtual reality, but keep in mind that the GT7 doesn’t work with Sense controllers, oddly enough: you need to use a DualSense controller (which has Get some nice touches and solid feedback anyway) or one of a number of supported steering wheels. Also, the races are only in virtual reality; The rest is in 2D. But the races look pretty good – and this is a must-have for showing just how impressive PSVR 2 games can look.

Two hands with guns, they attack a mysterious monster in a snowy village in the video game called Resident Evil Village

Being scared in VR isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, and it usually isn’t for me either. I’ll make an exception for Resident Evil Village, which turns the entire survival-gothic-horror game experience into a first-person PSVR 2 game with a free PS5 update. This game makes good use of Sense controllers to shoot, grab items and open doors and latches; Everything looks stunningly alive in PSVR 2’s rich HDR OLED screen. Next to Horizon: Call of the Mountain, this is the most cinematic PSVR 2 experience at launch. And yes, you’ll probably freak out a little.

hello games

No Man’s Sky was an ever-evolving infinite space exploration game that was a standout in PSVR before. The free PSVR 2 update for the PS5 version of the game looks very much the same in spirit as the way No Man’s Sky worked in VR earlier – it’s just so amazing. The entire game is playable in VR, including the latest Fractal 4.1 update, which offers an absurd amount of game play for the money. The Sense controllers feel well adapted to the game, too. Getting into the ship for the first time and flying into space is reason enough to give it a try.

One of our favorite Quest 2 games just got a re-mastered update for PSVR 2, and sometimes it feels like a whole new experience. Expect a first-person shooter that drops you in the wilderness of Batu, the planet where the Disney Star Wars theme parks are located. Weapons and gadgets resonate realistically with PSVR 2’s tactile triggers and powerful feedback, and environments look great in high-contrast HDR.

These cool and challenging puzzle platform games have been on our best VR games list for years. You control a mouse heroine as she ventures through dollhouse-sized worlds that unfold all around like dioramas. On PSVR 2, these games play similarly, but look and feel much sharper. The sit-and-play approach is less physically demanding than other PSVR 2 launch games, and could be a great choice for kids to try if they’re curious about VR – and you’re up close to watch them. (The price below is for Moss Book 2, the newest game in the series.)

Shooting zombies in the Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners video game
Skydance Interactive

A ridiculously long name for a great game, which looks better on PSVR 2 than Quest 2. Yes, it’s more survival horror – a genre that seems over-represented in VR these days – but the story dynamics and shooting action give this action feel Different from Resident Evil Village, and arguably better designed for VR as well, as an original VR game.

Visit Cartoon Island where the villagers are friendly, and you… a giant tentacled sea monster. Devolver Digital makes your arms feel like tentacles as you grab and toss objects to solve puzzles. It’s funny and charming, and PSVR 2’s star accents make the tentacles look even more realistic. It’s also fun to get rid of things.

Yes, this is Tetris, in virtual reality. Tetris Effect Connected has been around for years (including the VR versions), and it won us over a long time ago with its visual and visual music. Here’s why you should try this on PSVR 2: an HDR screen makes those surround effects shine like never before. Some immersive, contemplative Tetris gameplay is well worth trying, with some new bonus modes added as well. It’s a $10 upgrade for anyone who already owns the game.
