- The camera specifications of the following Samsung foldable phones may have surfaced.
- The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 both sport the same camera setup as last year’s models.
- On the other hand, Samsung could use new sensors for the upcoming devices.
Samsung is set to release its next foldable phones in just a few months, and although nothing has been announced yet, the rumor mill has been winding down, and the latest intelligence is about the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 cameras. , If you are hoping for visual upgrades, don’t hold your breath.
Famous leaker Yogesh Brar has posted the supposed camera specifications of both the devices, suggesting that next-gen foldable phones won’t see any camera upgrades. Brar’s claim contradicts an earlier leak that claimed the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will have a 108MP main camera and a 64MP telephoto lens.
Instead, the latest leak suggests that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold will have a 50MP main shooter, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera. For what it’s worth, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 had the same rear camera setup, which means its successor will be a minor upgrade rather than an overhaul.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5- 50 MP + 12 MP (UW) + 10 MP (Tele) Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5- 12 MP + 12 MP (UW) – Improved hinge – New image sensors – Large external displays – Qualcomm Snapdragon for a device GalaxyApril 6, 2023
The same could be true for the Galaxy Z Flip 5, as Brar claims it will have a 12MP primary shooter and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. This isn’t surprising given that Samsung’s foldable phones haven’t traditionally raised the bar for mobile photography.
However, it’s not all bad news for next-gen devices. The leak suggests that both of Samsung’s next competitors for the best foldable smartphone will come with new image sensors. However, details about these sensors are still murky at the moment.
Additionally, we might expect an improved hinge system, which is consistent with previous rumors that the phone’s hinge would curve the glass in a waterdrop shape to eliminate screen creases.
We may also see a larger external display, presumably on a clamshell foldable model. This confirms previous leaks about the supposed external display of the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which is rumored to be increased from 1.9 inches to 3.4 inches.
Finally, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 can be powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset found inside the Samsung Galaxy S23 series.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is the successor to Samsung’s most popular foldable device, providing users with more customization options. It also has a larger battery, upgraded chipset, and double the maximum storage capacity.
