Samsung’s foldables have lagged behind when it comes to camera capabilities, but last year’s models brought noticeable improvements and gave fans hope that they’re starting to catch up. We’re now getting the first details about the camera settings on the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 which is both good news and bad news.

According to Tipster Yogesh BrarThe Galaxy Z Fold5 will offer the same 50MP, 12MP ultrawide, and 10MP telephoto cameras as the Galaxy Z Fold4. The Z Flip5 will also retain the dual 12MP camera with wide and ultra-wide lenses. This is not the particularly promising part.
The good news is that the phones will come with new camera sensors, which should result in better image quality. It’s unclear if all or just some of the sensors will be upgraded, but we have no doubt we’ll learn more in the months leading up to the announcement.
The report also mentions improved hinge design, larger external displays, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset for the Galaxy chips.
