Redfallwhich is set to be one of the biggest Xbox releases from Microsoft and Bethesda of the year, will not have a 60fps performance mode on consoles at launch, developer Arkane Austin announced on Wednesday. Instead, the game will be limited to a quality mode that allows for 30fps at 4K on Xbox Series X and 30fps at 1440p on Xbox Series S.
The ad is disappointing, especially so close to the game’s release date around May 2nd and when previous footage was at 60fps. Redfall It looks like it’s going to be a fast-paced shooter, and I’m worried that the 30fps limit on the Xbox will make the game feel sluggish. (And personally, I always choose a higher frame rate over higher-quality graphics anyway.)
However, the game looks a lot of fun – I’m excited to team up with some friends to take on hordes of vampires in a fictional city Redfall. And since it will be on Xbox Game Pass at launch, I’ll be downloading it ASAP. I just hope the 30fps cap doesn’t make the game look too bad; with The Legend of Zelda: Kingdom’s Tears It will only start after 10 days, if you drop it RedfallIt may be a long time before I return.
