We are excited to announce that Disrupt, TechCrunch’s flagship annual conference, will see a new phase this year: the AI phase.
The AI stage will feature experts from across the AI landscape, including ethicists, entrepreneurs, and investors involved in developments related to AI and machine learning technologies. Their areas of expertise touch on generative AI, but also copyright issues as they relate to AI, such as whether training AI systems on copyrighted material can be considered fair use.
The AI stage will host several panels in time, from panels covering AI startups to Diversity in AI and how AI startups can create a compelling presentation for VCs.
There is a lot to discuss. This year, generative AI dominated – and continues to dominate – the conversation, with the release of AI systems for text generation such as OpenAI’s GPT-4. As technology enters the mainstream, each new day brings a new lawsuit – which experts at the AI stage will break down in detail.
Among other topics, the AI stage will cover art-generating AI and the many controversies surrounding it, as well as its applicability to fields ranging from marketing to journalism. It will also touch on automation, including how AI can be used to simplify workflows previously done by humans.
